In the news...

Give me a break... through rain, sleet, and snow, but not high steps:

A STEP TOO HIGH FOR CANADA POST
Canada Post may be putting the wrong "foot" forward after it told a woman in Ottawa that her 30-cm – or 12-inch – front step was too high for its carrier to climb to deliver mail.

Screwy steps should be fixed for safety reasons (like I pestered my apartment complex to do), but sheesh.

Sure, being married for 80 years is a record, but I'm sure it has a big chunk to do with the fact that they've both lived to over 100:

BRITISH COUPLE'S 80-YEAR MARRIAGE WORLD'S LONGEST
The secret of a long marriage may come in a cocktail – one part whiskey, two parts love and understanding.

Allergies suck:

What's my opinion? Well, it depends on how these two kids react. Is it only if they actually consume the milk, or will they actually react to the smell, or touching something that's been in contact with milk? And if you're still allowing kids to bring milk, you might as well allow the school milk program to continue. I let my roommates eat sesame seeds, just not cook with them. (Back when I had roommates.)

Sure, a Canadian won, but I still dont' approve of beauty pageants:

PAGEANT CROWNS CANADIAN AS MISS UNIVERSE
The new Miss Universe is a model from Toronto, 23-year-old Natalie Glebova.

I'm glad I discovered magnesium keeps my headaches at bay:

PAINKILLERS LINKED TO INCREASED BREAST CANCER RISK
People who use ibuprofen or aspirin daily for years may be in greater danger of getting breast cancer, a U.S. study suggests.

Oooo... neat! I wish I could watch this:

WINNIPEG LANDS 'BATTLE OF THE LIONS'
Five teams of athletes and artists from around the world who perform a traditional style of lion dance will come to Winnipeg this summer to compete in an invitational competition.

I always found it strange, emphyzema patients huddling around the doorways for a smoke:

SMOKERS BOOTED OFF BRANDON HOSPITAL PROPERTY
Smokers will have go a long way to light up if they're attending, visiting or working at a local health facility.

Yet another thing I find bizarre about the US:

WASHINGTON POST CONFIRMS FORMER FBI OFFICIAL WAS 'DEEP THROAT'
The Washington Post confirmed on Tuesday that W. Mark Felt, a former deputy associate director of the FBI, was \"Deep Throat,\" the source that provided the newspaper with some of its biggest scoops during the Watergate scandal.
