Mylo

Today I started applying paint to the sketch of Mylo from the art show demo:

(I liked the sketch, so even though I don't officially have a commission, I'm finishing him.)

Mylo has some interesting blue tones, so I roughed those in. (It may get covered, we'll see.) I also did the under-layer for the stucco, plus an approximation of the far background. I may warm up the tones after I get Mylo painted... they seemed way too bright at first, and so I toned them down. I also worked on Mylo's eye. (The printout I'm working from didn't have a good eye, so I want to have a look at the original photo on my computer to see if I'm getting it right.)

If you want to see the photo I'm working from, coopersita has it on Flickr.

Felted Lamp Shade

Wow!

Awwwww!

I met my newest neighbour out for a walk on my way home one day last week!

Isn't he the sweetest?!

(I hope Flickr actually shows the photos later!)

Hee!

Hee! I saw a cute crochet pattern while perusing Flickr, and clicked on the pattern link. Google offered to translate it from Dutch for me... but I think it had a few problems. Here's a sampling of the translation:

1st round: 4 Handling (1st double stick), 19 double crochet dc in ring, consistent with a slip in the fourth single from unloading on April 1. You now have 20 stabbing. Times.

April Fools? ;)

Found A Blog

I found a lovely craft blog via a Flickr photo, and thought I'd share a link. She's planning on having some blog contests in November, if you need other incentive to click over. ;)

Ask, and ye shall receive

Apple's website shows much prettier pictures, but here's the new laptop (13" MacBook Pro) with the old one (15" Powerbook G4) for comparison.

Huh... Flickr is letting me try out its new interface now too... hopefully I won't implode from all this change! (I generally get stressed out by change. So far I'm hanging in there. ;) )

Low Tide Invitation

Low Tide Invitation

If I were in Vancouver, I would *love* to go to this show! (To see the details about the show in text, click through to the flickr page, or go to Kirsten's blog post.) I have been admiring her art on flickr for quite a while now. (If anyone does go see it in person, let me know what you think!)

I love this one too! (By the same artist as the Noel ornament.)

Awwww!

(Uh, yeah... I'm catching up on some of my pre-Christmas "Found on Flickr" posts I've been saving. I'm getting just enough time between students to post the occasional one, but not concentrate on other work that needs doing.)

Little Red Boat in the Big Black Sea

Wow. Lovely. Serene. I love the swirls of quilting around the stars, and how everything except the bright red boat is monochrome grey.
