Here is a photo of what our local fuzzy-tailed rats look like.
This one is brazenly digging through my flower planters as I sit on the other side of the glass door. This is *after* I've chased it away several times already. The chicken wire is meant to keep the squirrels out, but I foolishly made holes to let the plants grow through. I think I'll have to fix that this year.
Hmmm... now that I'm planning on staying, I wonder what I should plant in my planters? The front will have impatiens as usual, but should I try to grow more veggies in the back? Or just give up, and plant flowers...

Plant some tomatoes and cucumbers grow great in those cages too.
Hmmm... I predict another blog entry on the fuzzy-tailed rats appearing soon. One involving tomatoes.
The squirrels up there still look skinny compared to the ones I lived with at Rice... ;)
Yeah, well, one day maybe I'll post a photo of an anorexic little Flin Flon squirrel for comparison. ;)
