For comparison purposes, here is what mold-free grass looks like after the snow has thawed:

(The lilac likes to drop some of its leaves after we get snow.)
Now here's a particularly thick patch of snow mold:

Here's a photo containing both... the mold-free grass is at the bottom of the photo, and that thick patch of snow mold is near the upper-right-center:

There's even some snow in that photo. But mostly snow mold.
Why is it my southern friends never belive me when I tell them about snow mold?
