This is my own little soapbox. Disclaimer: It is not written by someone you think you know, but by her evil twin. Absolutely nothing said here is true. Everything, including the last statement, is a complete work of fiction. This blog is completely boring, and includes entries on when I last washed my dishes, how many pairs of socks I've crocheted, and the occasional rant. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along.

Tapestry Crochet Hat
Done.
It would have turned out better had I been able to maintain a consistent gauge, but it's functional.
I don't think ironing the brim would help, since it's a circumference/radius issue, and my head stretching the inner circumference doesn't help at all.
I don't think IK Crochet or other publication that pay for patterns would be interested, since I've shown photos on my blog... they like them to be secret until they've come out. (I'm not good with secrecy.) Plus I don't think Elann sells the multicoloured Lara any more either.
It's wonderful! You make great hats. :) Funny - I bought a crocheted raffia hat today & found myself contemplating copying the pattern into my own creation...
Hi - it's me again. I was tagged with a fun meme, and am now tagging you - stop by my blog for details. It's all about events that happened on your birthday. It's fun!
This is a great example of a tapestry crochet hat. Like your colors too. You might like to check out the Flickr Tapestry crochet group and be inspired to make another. Follow this link: http://www.flickr.com/groups/tapestrycrochet/

it looks great! :)
It does look great-I think I saw it on Raverly this AM.
Wow, it's gorgeous!
I like it better than your Canadian hat. I think it turned out awesome! Is the yarn a cotton? Could you gently iron the brim to make it not as wavy?
If you kept notes on this pattern, I suggest you submit it to IK Crochet. I bet they would publish this.
Thanks!
Yes, it is cotton. It's Elann Lara

Fabulous!!! Love the colors, love the pattern, an all-around great hat! Now I need to learn to crochet...

Seeing your FOs is always inspiring to me. My own crochet skills are still rudimentary, but things like brimmed hats are just not great knit items.
functional is the most important thing! :-)
How cool is that!!!!!
What a NICE tapestry crochet hat. I'm just learning and haven't ventured into hat making, but yours is awesome!
Thanks for the blog link!

Functional? What do you mean it's functional? It's beautiful!
It might be functional, too.
