Passing Ships: brief conversations on my way to school

On the bus, as I crochet Sallie's socks:

Guy: "Wow, you do that so fast, I can't see what you're doing when I watch!"
I demonstrate a few stitches slowly to the guy and his girlfriend, and then explain that the motions become automatic.
Girlfriend: "I can't even go in a straight line!"

Crossing the street, walking (and crocheting) from the bus stop to the department:
Lady: "Hey! A Canada hat! Awesome!"
Me: "Thanks!"
Lady: "I'm from Toronto."
Me: "I'm from Winnipeg."
