I still wish there were some more exciting story to go with it, like it had come over with my family on the Mayflower or something...[although my family didn't come over on the Mayflower either, to my knowledge!]

Well, it's still more interesting than a new, mass produced swift. ;) And your dad did fix it, so it has *some* family history.
