Mah Nu "Sta-Wet" Palette

Don'tcha hate it when a product butchers spelling? Here it is at the start of tonight's painting session:

and at the end::

Look! Grass highlights! More snow!:

Doesn't it look amazingly different? Aren't you waiting on tenterhooks to see the next incremental update? ;) Yep, this is a gradual process.

For your viewing pleasure, here's a comparison between the current version and the previous version:

I like your sky better than the sky in the photo.

I thought the same thing about the sky.

Is your dad going hunting on the picture ?
I find the colors of the picture a little sad, I must say.
But I guess in that cold it is not like you can get lots of colors.

Thank you. :)

Yep, my dad is going hunting.

The colours are very muted, being an overcast winter day. I like the composition, though, especially with the big grasses in front, and the way my dad's dog is leaping.

It's possibly also intriguing me because it's a complicated painting to paint.

Now that you mention the colours, it might be fun to do a second one, somewhat abstracted, where I go a bit nuts with the colours. ;)
