This is my own little soapbox. Disclaimer: It is not written by someone you think you know, but by her evil twin. Absolutely nothing said here is true. Everything, including the last statement, is a complete work of fiction. This blog is completely boring, and includes entries on when I last washed my dishes, how many pairs of socks I've crocheted, and the occasional rant. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along.

And now to sleep...
With a forecast windchill of -45 C tomorrow, there's no way I wanted to leave the house without my thrummed mittens! And since having a set of dpns still in them would be awkward, I stayed up to finish: Okay warm weather, it's time to show up!
I love those! With the Reynauds, those would be perfect for me and my chronically purple fingers. I bought the latest issue of Interweave Crochet and they have a crocheted thrummed mitten pattern I may try-using wool and roving I already have-can't wrap my head around the pattern just yet though.
do you wear any rings? i've thought about thrummed mitts (i have arthritis, and warmth is a huge necessity), but i'm afraid my ring would catch before the thrums felted.
You know, I think I'd be complaining if it were 50F in my house too. ;) It didn't end up getting that cold... only -38C with windchill, if I remember correctly. Then, take the windchill off of that, and it sounds much more reasonable. (When wearing the correct clothing, and spending minimal time outside, of course!)

Oooo, neat! I'll have to look in the latest IC. (I don't think I have it... if I do, I haven't read it yet.)
Let me know if you need me to knit you a pair, if the crochet ones don't work out for you. ;)

No, I don't wear rings. I think snagging would be a problem. I suppose you could always wear a light liner mitten inside the thrummed mitten...
Yikes! -45C?! That's insane for goodnesssake. It's 50 degrees F in my house and I'm complaining! note to self: only live in temperate climes!
