Waaaaaa!
On the positive side, I do have another small cable needle (a very slippery metal one), and I'm now one row shy of finishing the first repeat of the second chart. Here's a no-flash photo:
I've glued the cable needle back together, and after the glue cures, I'll give it a test. I was kind of suspicious about those cross-grain sections. *sigh*
Update: My appologies for not linking earlier... the pattern for Durrow can be found here.

oh no! :( that stinks!
have you tried cabling without a needle? I also use weird stuff for cable needles sometimes, a pencil, anything I have lying around. Still doesn't solve the broken awesome cable needle though!
your durrow looks great!!
bummer about the needle, hope it's workable after...
I just use a metal yarn needle for my cables... works great for me!
So pretty! I love the cables in Durrow, they remind me of treble clefs. Are the horizontal cables difficult?
Hi Andrea! I´m happy to visit you, I was missing everybody last time.
I love your Durrow, it makes me want to come back to my Nantucket Jacket still unfinished...
so pretty!
Thanks everyone!
Part of the problem is that I'm knitting this yarn pretty tight in order to get gauge. (So pencils would be *waaaay* too fat!) The metal cable needle I have works, it's just really slippery.
The "horizontal" portions aren't hard... they actually come to rather obtuse points, and just involve double increases.
Oooohhh... Look at those yummy cables! Ok, I'm suckered in. Where might a knitter find the Durrow pattern?
Just had to say...lovely, lovely cables!
