This is my own little soapbox. Disclaimer: It is not written by someone you think you know, but by her evil twin. Absolutely nothing said here is true. Everything, including the last statement, is a complete work of fiction. This blog is completely boring, and includes entries on when I last washed my dishes, how many pairs of socks I've crocheted, and the occasional rant. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along.
For some reason I never thought I'd see a bootie on your blog...Have you blogged any before? I'm sorry if I forgot. Very neatly done and I always end up with large-szed ones, too!
Yeah, this is indeed my first bootie. Up until now I haven't seen a bootie pattern that really caught my eye. (I've seen cute booties, but they didn't have patterns, and I have no idea what size a baby's feet are.) I have made other baby items... there's the crayon blanket, those little jackets, and the adorable toque. Just no booties until now.
I actually made this one because a friend wanted to make one, but in a different gauge yarn, and was having trouble adapting the pattern. Now that she has a 3D version, she'll be able to crank out her own. When I get that first bootie back, I'll make a second one (or three or more) and give them to friends with babies. They're pretty fast, and I didn't have anything else planned for that particular yarn... of which I have two balls of (one mint and one baby blue). I had bought the yarn for my crazy-ghan, but it turned out much thinner than I thought, and between that and the fact that they're in a totally different colour range, and also that I ended up having enough yarn without them, I decided not to use them in my crazy-ghan.
