I Kinneared Gord Leclerc

Gord Leclerc is a local celeb... he's the anchor on CTV Winnipeg news. January 6th, I was on my way to knitting (late, due to having to make a trip home to pick up something I forgot), and Gord Leclerc got on my bus! It took me a moment to recognize him in everyday wear, rather than his suit. I don't often run across celebrities, so I kinneared him:
Gord Leclerc, kinneared
He's the one behind the silver pole... sorry for the motion blur, but using flash would break the rules of kinnearing, as it would alert the subject. Given that he looked asleep, I risked a second shot:
Gord Leclerc, kinneared
After that, I stopped harassing the poor guy. (I know how I feel after a long day, and imagined he felt similarly.)

For those who haven't heard of kinnearing, see here, or here, or here.

Wow! I can honestly say (with great certainty), that I've never been Kinneared before. Although I'm somewhat flattered, I'd have to agree with Prairie Chicken... it's a little creepy. If you really wanted a picture of/or with me Nroicum, you should've just asked. I really hope I don't embarrass you by posting my comment. I've read some of you blog posts and you seem like a very nice person (even though you seem to have a hard time getting any sleep). I just wanted to let you know to please say hi the next time you see me on the bus.

*waves* Hello Gord! My apologies for being creepy... I promise to never Kinnear you again, and I will say hi if I see you on the bus again. It's rather unlikely, though, that I'll be on that particular bus again because (a) it gets me to my knitting group late, and (b) not being a creepy-stalker-lady, I'm not going to purposely be late for my knitting group just to run into you. (Unless you would like me to, in order to apologize in person.)

Thanks for stopping in and saying hi! It's neat getting a comment from someone famous. :) Now back to my big pile of marking, so that I can get some sleep later... ;)

Apologize? Now way, you don't have to apologize. I should've added some... :)'s and... ;)'s to let you know that being Kinneared was no big deal. Guess I'm not much of a blogger.

And I was never under the impression you were the creepy-stalker type. I mean, given the amount of court cases and police stories I've written and/or covered, I've never once encountered a stalker that was a knitter! LOL :)

Okay, I'm glad we're cool. :) Knitters do tend to be a friendly bunch... knitting tends to be relaxing, so perhaps that's why? ;) (There's knitting t-shirts available that say "I knit so I don't kill people".)

The only incident I know of, where a newsperson incurred the wrath of knitters, was when Mo Rocca called handknit sweaters itchy on an episode of "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" (NPR). A bunch of knitters banded together and knit him a non-itchy sweater, and presented it to him on a later episode of "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me!" Not only did he make a retraction, but he learned to knit too. ;) Link: http://www.bust.com/boob-tube/me-mo-rocca-knittin-in-a-tree.html
