This is my own little soapbox. Disclaimer: It is not written by someone you think you know, but by her evil twin. Absolutely nothing said here is true. Everything, including the last statement, is a complete work of fiction. This blog is completely boring, and includes entries on when I last washed my dishes, how many pairs of socks I've crocheted, and the occasional rant. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along.

Shoes
My wonderful, big-toe-box shoes are definitely not designed for Canadian winters: I've ended up on my ass twice already this morning. I guess tomorrow I'll wear my Sorels. They'll keep my feet and legs warmer too. (The streets were plowed, so there didn't seem to be enough snow to justify Sorels this morning.)

Slipping on ice is how I dislocated my knee cap and needed major knee surgery when I was 24. I wish I would have had a pair of these http://www.vermontcountrystore.com/jump.jsp?itemID=33386&itemType=PRODUCT&searchid=inceptor
They seem pretty affordable, you might want to look into buying a pair. Sorels are nice and warm, but kind of clunky and big.
Oh, I found something else for you as well...

Maybe you have an old pair of shoes you can do this to?
I think my parents have some of those, and I considered it, but it's really pretty cold out anyway, so warm boots would be good for now. I imagine they're pretty hard on indoor floors, too, if I pop into a store.
careful, you! I had two bad falls at ice skating class today and I don't want you to get hurt! ;)
and crampons go on/off pretty easily, so you can take them off before you go into a shop or whatever. I do just wear boots normally though, but if I am running and it is possibly icy out, crampons work.
nice post!...I usually wear timberland shoes for the winter and i feel so comfortable...
