Experiment

Spinning in Progress
Spinning in Progress

Hypothesis: Once spun, roving takes less luggage space.

Materials: 4 oz Cloverleaf Farms "Dragon" Blue Face Leicester from Rhinebeck, one Maggie spindle.

Method: Unbraid, divide, then spin roving.

Observations:
1. This stuff is a dream to spin.
2. Maggie seems lighter than Plain Jane (a good justification to keep both).
3. Spindle spins, singles appear... very slow disappearance of roving.

It is pretty light, even though it looks larger than my other spindle when the two are next to each other. When I started spinning tonight, I felt like "hey, this is supposed to be cherry, not balsa!" ;)
