Miscellany

Ugh... I think perhaps I should have stayed in bed this morning. I didn't however. I'm not going to bother going home early either, because when I go home, I'm not going to get to go to bed anyway. Dad and I have a construction project planned, and given when he's around, we *need* to work on it tonight. :P

Here's our construction project:

This will be a shelving unit to hold my three hanging file folder boxes (which I discovered are too heavy to stack on each other), two rubbermaid totes of yarn, and then have bookshelves above that to the window.

Bethany asked me about seaming crochet, and that reminds me of a nifty book I saw while at the bookstore the other day: Crochet Techniques by Nancie M. Wiseman. It looks to have some really good advice on how to seam crochet. Looking that book up also reminded me that K really likes (if I remembered correctly) The Crochet Answer Book. K: please correct me if I'm wrong.

Cat Bordhi is apparently asking for people's feet measurements. I encourage everyone to submit their measurements, especially if you have funny shaped feet. As a person with non-standard feet, I really wish the shoe industry would recognize that not everyone's feet are the same. However, if I can get nice fitting socks, that's at least a start! Frankly, I've been thinking of collecting some of the same information to design a really nice crochet sock. So, if you want, send your measurements to me too. ;)
