Prayer has no effect on heart patients in U.S. study(Note: Not "bizarre, prayer has no effect," but "bizarre, someone would actually study this.")
Having people pray for heart bypass patients had no effect on their recoveries in an American study, researchers say.
This is my own little soapbox. Disclaimer: It is not written by someone you think you know, but by her evil twin. Absolutely nothing said here is true. Everything, including the last statement, is a complete work of fiction. This blog is completely boring, and includes entries on when I last washed my dishes, how many pairs of socks I've crocheted, and the occasional rant. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along.

I'd heard in the past that prayer does work, though not necessarily from a "God listens" standpoint. I don't have the time or inclination to go hunt for studies right now, but I know I've read in the past that the mindset of the patient has an effect on their chances of recovery, and that praying and having others pray for them increased the patient's positive outlook, thus increasing their chances of recovery. So I find it interesting that there was "no effect" in this study.
