This post is merely to remind myself when it comes to recent medical history.
I have that weird pain in my abdomen on the right hand side. I know it was there yesterday too, and I think it may have started Saturday night. Saturday I had my last pill in the cycle, so Aunt Flo is due this week. I'm wondering if that's a coincidence or not. (Which is why I'm documenting this... if it happens again next month, I'll have a clue. ;) )
Hmmm... a google search has turned up the information that kidneys are located at the back of the abdomen... I guess that means my occasional pains aren't little kidney stones. Maybe tonight I'll google around until I can find out what's located near the front right of the abdomen, about level with the top of my hip bone.
It's not a big pain, but I do try to pay attention when my body says hello.

My guess would be ovulating or something in the reproductive area. It also could be your colon, liver and maybe even gallbladder stuff.
Well, I know some women allegedly get pain on one on whatever side of their abdomen they're ovulating from during ovulation.
But I didn't think one was supposed to ovulate on the Pill... also, seems like the wrong time of month.
1. It is the wrong time of the month for ovulation.
2. The pill prevents ovulation.
3. I think the ovaries are also towards the middle or back of the abdomen.
I'll google where the colon, liver, and gallbladder are. ;)
The entire front of your abdomen, behind the muscle wall and fascia, is intestinal - it covers everything else. So, large intestine (colon) around the outside, and small intestines on the inside of the rectangular shaped area that are covered by your intestines. Bladder and uterus are lower down and in the middle, and behind the intestines. Ovaries are also lower down, so not up by the top of your hip bone. My guess - either muscular something (which could be just a random something, but could be related to the time of the month) or an intestinal thing (more likely, and could still be related to that time of the month). Liver is up higher, gall bladder is not on the side, but is under the liver, unless yours is not in the right place, which is a possibility...
Anatomy is fun! :-)
Yeah, I'm starting to think it's intestinal.
Every time I go to the allergist, she pokes my tummy and asks if it hurts. Maybe I'll ask her the next time I'm in. Maybe this is something that shows up in people with allergies.
Do you still have your appendix?
I've recently been having pain in the same area, only it hits me the week after Flo. I haven't made it to the doc yet but I happened to be talking to a lady the last time it was hurting me and she said she gets the same thing. She went to the doc and they told her it was ovulation related and told her to take something OTC for the pain. So I haven't been in a hurry to go have it looked at.
I also thought about the appendix, cuz it's in about the same area, but since it only hurts near my period I figured that isn't it. I had a bf who's appendix flared up and the pain he was in and the other symptoms he had were nothing like what I felt a couple of weeks ago.
I'm pretty sure it's not my appendix. Several years ago I went in to ask about it, and the eastern European doctor said I just needed to sit up straight. That convinced me that she doesn't reallly know what it is, but that it isn't anything serious like my appendix.
Your appendix is lower down, too, not up by your hip. Though I suppose pain can travel in some cases.
