Guten Abend. Ich möchte nochmal mein Deutsch üben. Warum? Daß weiß ich nicht. Es hat auch gestern passiert.
Ich denke mein Deutsch ist schlimmer als jetzten mal.
Ich habe noch nicht Drachenreiter gelesen. Ich sollte es lesen. Ich möchte es lesen. Aber ich muß viele Bücher lesen. H hat mir viel Bücher ausgeliehen, und ich möchte sie alle schnell lesen. Dann kann ich die Bücher zurück geben am Weinachten. (Und mehr ausliehen!)
D. Eppstein ist toll! Er hat mir alles von "algebraic independence" erklärt, und ich verstand es! Morgen wird ich es dir erklären. Ich wunder... was denkt er als er sein Namen gelesen hat? Wegen ich in Deutsch geschreiben haben? Hoffentlich ist es kein Problem.
Es ist spät... ich soll schlafen gehen. Schlaf gut!

Sein Deutsch ist sehr gut! Ich habe mein vergesst (?)...Sie kann verstehen was ich sagen mochte..Und was fur ein Buch ist dieses "Drachenreiter", bitte? Ich mochte kennen!

I can pretty much guarantee that I don't say anything exciting in my German posts. Here's what I was trying to say:
Good evening. I felt like practicing my German again. Why? I have no idea. I felt like this last night too.
I think my German is even worse than last time. [jetzten was supposed to be letztes]
I haven't read Drachenreiter yet. [Drachenreiter by Cornelia Funke... that's "Dragonrider" in English. P got it for me when she was in Germany, because there's *no* selection around here.] I should read it. I want to read it. But I need to read lots of books. H loaned me lots of books, and I want to read them quickly. Then I can return them at Christmas. [I misspelled "Weihnachten."] (And borrow more!)

Misfit: Cool! I didn't know (or remember?) you spoke German too. :) Yes, I understood what you were trying to say. I'm not sure you murdered German any worse than I did. ;)

I didn't find it until just now, after you posted your translation; otherwise I would have tried one of the online translation services. My German is very minimal, but I could at least tell it was something about what we discussed the other day...
Normally when I see my name in German it's a reference to a town in Germany with the same name.
