Freeform crochet, where the basic pattern stitch is *sc, dc*. He's about 5 and a half inches high.
This was inspired by short scrap snippets of Noro Silk Garden... too pretty to throw out, but too short for most things.
He's not really a desert creature, I just needed something for a background.
Oh... and I made another potholder that's ready for felting:
(It's in the wash now.)
