WTF?!?

The building-wide fire alarm just went off, but was only going for a short bit. When we were all trying to figure out what was going on (at the current temperature, -27 C with a windchill of -43, you want to make *sure* there's actually a fire first!), there were several fire trucks that congregated at the corner of Silvia and Leslie. ??? They didn't stick around for long, and *why* did our alarm go off at the same time??? WTF is up?

I remember those fire alarms from my days as a building caretaker (that was back when my first born was only a few months old - Ack!). Extreme temperatures can set them off - hot and humid summer days and these frigid, beyond-the-pale cold days of winter. It's very tempting to ignore them and stay indoors where it's warm (or cool), but always check for smoke, 'cause you never know.

Yeah, I was wondering if it might be the weather. We did all congregate in the hall to check with one another to make sure nothing was actually wrong.
