Change I can see!

Painting in Progress

Yes, I can! (Can you? I don't need to post side-by-side before and after shots, do I? Do I need to remind you what I'm trying to paint?)

One of the comments at the club: "What's the blue thing?" (I'm not finished yet!! ;) My caretaker hasn't seen it recently either. ;) )

Speaking of "change"... I'm still loving Obama! I love how he actually says things when he speaks, and doesn't just spout "spin" nonsense. *swoon*

It begins to look very nice. Will you give it to your Dad ?
I use to paint a little before, my grand-mother was a painter, but I never dared painting a face.

Possibly, but I think I'd like to see if it sells at the spring show. (Assuming I get it done in time.)

How much will you ask for it ?

noricum said...

Probably $200... it depends on how much I like it when it's done.

It's 16"x20".

I thought it would be bigger, but still it sounds cheap if you consider the time you spent on it.
But I guess if you really want it to be sold it is better to put a cheaper price.

$200 is cheap. However, our show is not well known, and so paintings don't tend to sell for much. Paintings I like a lot, and am less willing to part with, I charge more. Smaller paintings I charge less. It's a bit of a toss-up, trying to put prices on your own art. And no, most of the prices wouldn't work out to anywhere near minimum wage.

Would you like to make a career as an artist ?

noricum said...

No, I prefer to have it as a hobby... then I can paint what I want, when I want, and not worry about the fact that I can't support myself.

Sort of like trying to sell handknits and make anything more than minimum wage. I really like your painting! I LOVE Obama too! And it's not just cause anything would be good after Bush. My husband has a serious crush on him, too.

Thanks!

I love Obama too and all what he represents: his integrity, the way he talks clearly, stay calm no matter what, his intelligence too, and he seems to be a hard worker but still makes time for his family, he exercises regularly and he seems like a very respectful person.
I love how he says his truth, it is direct but respectful.
And he is handsome !!
I love that he comes from a multi-cultural family, and that he is open-minded.

The singer Aretha Franklin said at the inauguration ceremony that there is a love story between this country and Barack Obama, I think so too !
