Rug Hooking

Rug Hooking

The stars aligned, and I finally started the rug hooking kit I bought a year or two ago. (Previously, I either didn't know where my stretcher frame was, or felt guilty about starting a new project before something else was finished. Tonight I knew where the stretcher frame was, and didn't care about how many projects I have ongoing.)

Observation: Rug hooking is just as fun and addictive as I thought it would be. This will be a trivet for me, but I'd like to make more trivets, etc, for the family cabin. :)

awesome! I want to try it sometime. I got my mom a rug hooking kit at MD Sheep & Wool a few years ago though I don't think she's tried it yet.

Do! It's fun! :)

A good place to get wool fabric to felt is at the thrift shop in the skirt section. If you want, we can even do trades (since a skirt produces a decent amount of fabric) of half skirts to increase our colour selection!

Nice project. I have started one. Maybe today would be a good day to take it out and keep going with it.

No time like the present. :)

this style of rug hooking is very high on my sister's list of things to learn. since I shop the craft shows with her, i have seen lots of demos and such, but I don't know that i'll give it a try, but I'm not going to say 'never' . Am looking forward to your progress.

I'll post another progress shot soon. :) (Swamped with work... *sigh* ... to preserve my sanity, though, I did do some more. I just haven't photographed it or posted it.)
