Suggestion: you might want to brush off more than just the front windshield and driver's door windows... with roads the way they are, being able to see more than 90 degrees will help you avoid someone who is about to hit you from the right or behind.
Also, how on earth do you expect to be able to merge right safely?!?!?!!!!
I'm glad I'm home now, for more reasons than one!

omg, I should not be surprised at such idiots.
This is just scary!
Don't you just wonder what the heck is wrong with people? Stay safe!
Dad suggested sending this in to the local paper & news channels. I wonder if public embarrassment would have an effect?
You should send it to local channels!
Two co-workers of mine were t-boned a a few years back by someone like that. She has almost 0 visibility. Thankfully, my friends were ok.
Yikes! I'm glad your friends were okay! (I actually did send the photos... I took two.)
I keep a straw broom in my car YEAR round! Came in handy last year when we had TWO blizzards. Not that common in the DC area but we do get more snow lately!
Up here we have special brushes for sweeping off cars that are much more ergonomically designed (and more compact, especially the ones with telescoping handles) for brushing off cars. They have a brush on one side, and a scraper on the other.
We also have block heaters, for heating up the engine *coolant* enough for the car to start. ;)
