This is my own little soapbox. Disclaimer: It is not written by someone you think you know, but by her evil twin. Absolutely nothing said here is true. Everything, including the last statement, is a complete work of fiction. This blog is completely boring, and includes entries on when I last washed my dishes, how many pairs of socks I've crocheted, and the occasional rant. These are not the droids you're looking for. Move along.

I was tickled to see the quote on page 173 is by Paul Erdös: "Problems worthy of attach prove their worht by fighting back." Now, I'm fairly sure Stephanie doesn't know all that much about Erdös (she even left the umlauts off), but I still think it's cool he's in there! My Erdös number (last I checked) is 3. :) Um, yep, still looks like 3.
cool. one of my profs worked with him!!
ReplyDeleteNeat. :) He was very prolific... and very strange. ;)
ReplyDeletethat reminds me, I think I have a video "N is a number" all about Erdos. And yes,...he seems to have been a 'character' of sorts.
ReplyDelete[blush] I was too lazy to do the umlauts without LaTeX.
ReplyDeleteI use a mac, so getting umlauts is easy: <option>-u then the letter. None of this stupid memorizing numbers stuff you need on Windows. :P
ReplyDeleteHmmm... I haven't seen that video. I've just heard lots of stories about him. ;)
